DIY Arm Knit Blanket

Hello My Lovelies!

I’m currently at home snuggled under my new arm knit blanket enjoying the fact that I don’t have to go to work today! It’s a SNOW DAY! We don’t have snow at the moment..but it’s coming before lunch :)

Last night I was cruising around on Pinterest looking for a new project to find when I stumbled across Simply Maggie and arm knitting! I watched the video and thought I’d like to try it. I’ve got a huge bin of yarn that I’ve bought on sale (I’m a sucker for a good sale…) so I picked 2 skeins of Cranberries #11  by Yarn Bee and 2 skeins of Stonewash #18 by Yarn Bee. Both are a fleece lite yarn and have the softest feel.

The pattern does call for a super bulky yarn. You’ll notice my blanket isn’t quite as full as Maggie’s..but hey..I was just trying to figure out if I could do it :)

Here’s the video tutorial I watched :) You will want to make your tail about 10 feet long depending on how big/long you want your blanket. I started off with a little more than 5 feet.

I put Charlie’s Angels season 1 on the TV, Maggie’s video on the laptop and off I went :)

The first three rows were the most challenging, but once you get the hang of it you’ll zoom through!

Here’s the finished product :) It took me less than an hour!

Again, it’s super hole-y because my yarn isn’t a super bulk. All in all, it cost me $3.35 per skein so about $12 dollars and an hour of my life for a nice warm blanket. I’m headed into town quickly this morning before the weather turns yucky to grab some bulky yarn & I’ll be giving it another whirl today :)

XoXo!
