Tea Time Thursday

Clipper Wild Berry Tea
Clipper Wild Berry Tea

I’m always on the lookout for a new cup of tea to try :) I’m the only one in my office who’s a non-coffee drinker. My philosophy is this: Why drink the nasty stuff when you can enjoy organic?

Last night on a post workout shopping spree I ran through T•J•Maxx (I hate to admit I’m a huge Maxxinista!). I can’t leave without skimming through the clearance & food sections.

I ended up on the food aisle and remembered I was down to my last tea bag at work. Nestled on the bottom shelf, I saw a splash of purple. I’m addicted to the color purple by the way. I pulled the box out and my nose perked up at the smell of berries. I smelled it closer and it was like laying in a field of wildflowers in the middle of summer.

Priced at only $2.99, I knew I had to give it a try. The packaging is awesome! As a designer, I love things that catch my attention. The paper stock was just thick enough, box small enough to comfortably hold in my hand and I loved the design. It is delightfully full of typography and thus creates a great image.

As for the tea, I’m currently sipping my way through my first cup. I must tell you it is delightful! A robust flavor with a delicate blend berries. You get hints of hibiscus, a dance of bilberry, and I caught a faint hint of pineapple. How close was I?

:) Pretty close! It’s comprised of Hibiscus, Honeybush, Pineapple, Bilberry and a dash of natural flavor.
All ingredients are organically grown. Being the eco-nerd that I am, I headed over to their website to find out if they were a Fair Trade company. THEY ARE! It’s great to find a company that is passionate about sustainability. (I’d love to know if their packaging is printed on recycled stock and what kind of inks they use.)

“All of our organic products are grown in a way that preserves the natural balance of the environment and will help sustain people, wildlife and the land for the future.”

So if you’re looking for a delicious new tea for summer, I highly recommend buying a box of this :) They have a vast variety on their website! www.clipperteas.com (A sidenote to their graphic & web designers: Can I please come hangout with you guys? You’re stuff is awesome!) Their website is super user friendly, there is a link on the bottom to their online store. I found what I was looking for quickly and without frustration. I am currently trying to find out if they ship to the USA. On the site, I only see Germany, Ireland, and the UK. I’ll let you know as soon as I know! My shopping cart is overflowing at the moment so excuse me while I whittle it down :)

*****Update!*****

Due to an amazing amount of fraudulent orders they don’t offer the USA on their website. However, they told me there are several ways to order!

1 – You can find their teas at International Food Associates Inc, 1740 Hurd Drive, Irving, Texas 75038.   Their general email address is info@internationalfoodassociates.com and their website can be viewed at www.internationalfoodassociates.com.

2 – Their products are also available by mail order from the following link:  http://mybrands.com/BrandsHome.aspx?bid=844&B=true

3 – You can also call their customer service number and order via phone or by email.

Hope this helps!

ClipperMy goodness how cute is their site!
